New Place Part 2

As promised, here are some more pictures of our 2nd floor, where all the bedrooms are. Just as a warning, there are a lot of boring pictures, but i wanted my family to get to see what it looks like as best as possible since they might not ever come up to see it!

When you first walk up the stairs, the washer and dryer are right there at the top

then you turn right and straight ahead is the master bedroom, which is huge to us compared to all the teeny tiny rooms we've had in the past

when you go back out of the master bedroom you walk down the hall and there is another bathroom to the left ( and yes it has a tub and shower for our guests *hint hint*)

straight ahead from the hallway is the office room/John's CPA study room/the guest room.

And to the right is the boys' room.  For now its just Jack's bed, dresser, toy chest and a pile of his books. Eventually we are going to get Jack a big boy bed and leave the crib all set up for Baby #2 in there, but they will share a room because we want them to be best buddies!

So as you can see, there is plenty of room for air mattresses and you can even have your own bathroom, so no excuses for not coming to visit us anymore!! And our family room is big enough to mingle with people now also- except now we just gotta get some decent couches in there! I will continue to work on John for that one :)

Tomorrow we are planning on going to the Portland zoo since it's one of the last days they will have the dinosaur exhibit, so i promise next post will be more exciting!

3 Years!!

Today is our 3 Year Anniversary!! (It's also our birthdays, but we have decided to celebrate John's yesterday and mine tomorrow).  I can't believe how fast time flies by! 3 Years ago today we were happier than can be, thinking nothing could be better than that day.  Fast forward 3 Years later and John has graduated from U of O and has a great job, and we have 1 hyper and fun almost 2 year old boy with another one on the way in December, and now we think things couldn't be better! It has been a crazy but exciting last 3 years and I can't wait to see what more the future brings!  I thought it would be fun for our anniversary to do this blog tag that is all about us, so here it goes!

All about my husband and me….

What is his name?   Jonathan Christopher Graham - John

How long have you been together?  A little under 4 years total, 3 years married

How long did you date?   we dated for about 6 months and were engaged for 4 months

Who eats more?  John, except when I am preggo we eat about the same, with me sometimes eating more

Who said I love you first?
John- after our first silly argument (one of those whole CA vs OR ones we had in the beginning).  We were on the phone and after he told me so sweetly that he loved me I seriously couldn't speak, i just cried and knew he was a good find

Who is taller?  John

Who is smarter?
Definitely John  (Accounting vs. Early Childhood Education- not a very close match-up). Plus since he is 4 years older he has a lot more life experience than I do :)

Who does the laundry? Me most of the time, but if he is home and needs something washed he won't ask me, he's plenty capable

Who does the dishes?
John does most of the time!! He is sooo good about doing them (and he's gotten pretty good since my first pregnancy where I couldn't even stand in the kitchen without dry heaving)

Who sleeps on the right?  Right now I do, but we usually change every time we change the direction of our bed- i can't sleep next to the window or wall

Who pays the bills? John works hard to bring in the dough and I spend it all! -I do pay all the bills first though :)

Who mows the lawn?
Haven't had one yet, but I don't even know how to, so that will be John and the boys' job

Who cooks dinner?
me, although John is a good cook- he just never gets home til after 6

Who drives when you are together?
John

Who is more stubborn?
John is for sure- I'd say sorry John, but he already knows and admits to it

Who kissed who first?
He totally took me by surprise about 2 weeks after we first started dating- it was after he walked me home to my apt. after I had just gone to watch his b-ball game.  I was surprised, but really glad he did- he told me later that he knew he had to kiss me because all these other guys were trying to ask me out and he didn't want me to get away. It was his way of saying , "you're mine now"

Who asked who out first?   This is like the biggest debate of the century between us.  My roommates and some friends decided it would be fun if we had a movie night, and each invite a boy we had been wanting to hang out with or just thought was cute.  I finally (after crushing on John for the past 2 months) got the courage up the day before in b-ball to invite him, and he said he'd come! I guess since I told him that a bunch of my roommates and friends were watching a movie together and left out the part where we were even numbers, each girl inviting a guy, John says that I tricked him into the first date.  I didn't think it was actually a date date.  But we had fun either way ( we watched Elf, which had just come out), and at the end John asked me out to dinner for the next night at his married friends' home (Tony & Amy)- which is what I count as the first date.

(** warning, this next answer is even longer, but the questions are almost done)

Who proposed?  John- We had already picked out the ring and talked a lot about it, but he totally surprised me with when he asked.  At the end of the semester we drove together to his parents to meet them, and then we were going to drive down to my parents in Cali. to hang out for a week before we both started our summer jobs.  So i thought that he was going to talk to my dad when we got there and then plan a night at the beach or something.  John knew I was expecting this and since he hates things being planned out for him, he decided to change things around.  He really wanted to surprise me, so the last day we were at his parents place in Glide, OR we decided to go for a hike (his parents live in this gorgeous small town with tons of super pretty waterfalls and hikes around).  So i got all dressed up in my grubby hiking clothes and went out to the car -where John was dressed in a nice button up the front dress shirt and nice khaki pants.  I was so confused, but thought that maybe it was just a really easy hike, so i went back and put on a little bit nicer shirt, but kept the jeans.  John had packed a picnic lunch in his backpack and when i tried to put the camera in the bag he flipped out and wouldn't let me touch it- you'd think I'd catch on now, but i was totally oblivious.  We hiked up to Fall Creek Falls, which was absolutely gorgeous, and found a place to eat lunch.  John had packed a good lunch including some of my favorite treats (gushers, capri-suns, and candy of course!)  Then, he told me to close my eyes because he had one more surprise for me.  Still not catching on, I closed me eyes expecting to see more of my favorite candy when I opened them.  Instead, when I opened my eyes he was holding my super sparkly ring! I gasped and then proceeded to smile hugely and cry while John proceeded to tell me all the reasons he loved me and wanted to spend the rest of forever with me.  Of course I said yes!

Who has more siblings?  I do- 2 brothers and 2 sisters.  John- 2 brothers and 1 sister

Who wears the pants?  we both have our moments and i think all in all we do a pretty good job in sharing that responsibility

So there it is, all about us.  Thanks John for making my life better and for always being my best friend.  Everyday just gets better and better! I LOVE YOU!! HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!

New Place

Front Room and Kitchen Pictures

So, as demanded here are some pictures and video of our first floor.  There's still stuff to put away in storage, pictures to hang, and a new couch to get, but here's what the layout looks like so far:

Today we woke up to a thunder and lightning storm! It's been fun, and all through breakfast, everytime we heard the thunder, Jackson would get a little confused and yell, "Big Jet!!" (that's what he calls airplanes and helicopters).  We are also glad the weather is finally cooling down!
I will post pictures of the upstairs when I get around to taking them! :)

Jack and Jack...... and our new ward at church

Here's some cute pictures of Jackson with his best buddy Jack.  They had a lot of fun running around together and just being boys last week.

In other news, we went to our new ward on Sunday and it went great! First of all, the nursery is huge compared to the one in Eugene, yet there are only about 7 kids in it, and they have lots of cars and choo choo trains.  Therefore, Jackson stayed in nursery the whole time without us!  In fact, they came to get me cuz he had a stinky diaper, but we couldn't get him out of room because he didn't want to leave! He was actually having fun- mainly because they had a car ramp that was as tall as he was! But this was seriously a miracle because he has hated nursery in the past and just screamed until they brought him to me.  Luckily, these nursery leaders are very good and patient with cryers, and Jack only cried for a couple of minutes in the beginning!!!  I am sooooo happy because John and I will actually get to go to sunday school AND relief society/elders corum!  And the ward seems perfect for us! It is actually kind of smaller because the bounderies are pretty small and there are not a lot of apartments in it, but we love this because they noticed that we were new and actually cared! Tons of people introduced themselves to us, and in relief society they had me stand up and say where we came from, how many kids we have, how we met, what we were doing here, etc.  And then the relief society president told me they would come to visit me during the week and bring by "the welcome packet".  Coming from Eugene where they have so many students move in and out that even though we were there for 3 years no one really cared we were there or even knew who we were, I was in shock that they actually have a welcome packet! So anyways, we are very excited to be a part of the new ward and get to know new people.  We are finding more and more just how perfect the area we moved to is.  Church is 4 mins. away, costco, winco, jamba juice, target and lots of other shopping are just down the street, and the max (which is what John takes to work everyday) is just one block away! And there are parks and even a park and rec pool close by too! Plus we love our condo and I am even more excited with hot days coming this week that we have A/C!!  We truly have been blessed with finding this place and I know that this is where we are meant to be right now.

Quick Update

So, just thought I'd give a quick update for anyone interested. We are currently waiting to move into our condo in Beaverton- it's been a big hassel finding a place and getting it all worked out. We are actually currently staying at our friends' parents house, since they were super kind to offer and deal with us for a week (our only other option was to pay for a hotel for a week- yikes, expensive). But we are excited for our new place! And it has totally been worth the hassel and wait. Also:
-John is back in Portland working and bringing in the dough
-Jackson is enjoying getting to play more with his best buddy Jack (we are staying at his grandparents place)
-Jackson threw my phone into the kitty pool yesterday so if you need to reach us call John's phone
-Baby Baron? has been kicking and moving like crazy lately and I am totally eating my words that he is a lot calmer than Jack was in me
-I cannot put down Breaking Dawn (the last of the twilight books that just came out!!)-I'm already more than half way through!
-My family is off waterskiing and wakeboarding at Bass Lake in Yosemite without us! :(
-But we get to start moving in Friday and we will once again have a home and all of our stuff! :)

so that's it for now........ we will have pictures to add after we move and we find our cord for the camera, probably packed away in some random box :)
