Home from the Hospital

Friday night we were able to bring the little lady home since both her and I were doing well.  It was so nice to sleep in our own bed! And we really did sleep that first night home... Morgan slept for 7 hours straight! I even tried a few times to wake her up to feed her in the middle of the night because I was worried, but she was out cold.  We just figured she was exhausted from everything (including not sleeping the first night in the hospital due to spitting up amniotic fluid all night). She has slept pretty well ever since though and it's been a blast having her at home!

One thing we've noticed with having a girl is that usually with newborns you take lots of pictures because they look so cute and little, but with a girl, you take those pictures plus every time you put a new outfit on you just have to take a picture of how cute it is! haha.  Even John has been caught saying, "Oh that's cute... where's the camera?!"  Hence many more pictures we have to post (and I know my dad and some family have been looking forward to some more pictures!)

Her going home outfit was quite large on her

The first time we had to put her in her carseat I was worried she wasn't big enough!

Baron was really shy in the hospital, but once Grandma and Grandpa brought him back home he has asked a bunch to hold the baby and loves to help out with her! It's so cute... especially when he holds her because she fits so perfectly in his little lap and cuddles right up to him

He had a blast playing with her on our bed and making her legs "dance"

Her feet don't look quite so big when put next to her brother's

I just love how little and cute she looks in her bouncy seat and swing and all bundled up

she always manages to get her arm out by the end of her nap though... she's a strong one!

Little Monkey is a nickname that with her wardrobe and long gangly arms and legs seems to fit her well

Big yawn!

Jackson is still loving every second of her as well!

Morgan Jane

She's here!! Our precious little girl is finally here and we are in pure heaven.  Not to mention how wonderful it is not to be pregnant anymore :)

Morgan Jane Graham
Born 7/12/12 @ 7:49am
6 lbs. 6 oz.
19 inches long

She is named after two really wonderful people.  First, her Aunt, Heather Morgan, John's younger sister that is pretty darn cool and someone that she will be able to look up to.  Second, her Great-Grandma, Jane Jeffrey, Sue's mother, whom was a pretty courageous woman that died of Ovarian cancer when she was just 62.  Just like the boys, we wanted to name her something that we both loved and that also had a lot of personal meaning to it.  So far it seems to fit her pretty well.

She is tiny.  We don't know why she was so little being just 4 days from due date when her brother was 6 days early and 8 lbs 3 oz, but she is super healthy and surprisingly strong!  It was awesome for pushing her out (in two easy pushes), and for healing.  I feel great.  Seriously, it is shocking how at almost two pounds smaller than her brother, I feel completely different and pretty much pain free.  She is pretty darn cute, petite little body and all. And she doesn't look like a premie, just petite.  It's so sweet.  And her labor from the first consistent contractions until the time she was born was just under 5 hours total. That's it.  It was great for the end result, but man it was hard.  The very first contractions started off at 5 mins a part- very different than with the boys. Within an hour or two they were coming so fast and hard and were darn painful with not much time to recover in between. I am so grateful for a wonderful husband that let me grab onto his shirt for dear life and who coached me through the breathing so I didn't pass out.  I couldn't have done so well without him by my side! I really love that guy.

Despite being so tiny, she has her daddy's long narrow feet and long arms and hands.  Just like we thought she might and just like her big brother Jackson.  Its pretty funny to see her big feet on such a skinny and little body.

She is strong and active.  We also thought beforehand she might be pretty active since she was always moving like crazy inside me and sure enough, she hardly ever sits still. She kicks and kicks her legs, especially when she's mad, like when you try to change her diaper.  And if you don't swaddle her arms up super tight you can bet she'll get them free and start punching the air and trying to suck on her hands constantly.  Today at the Dr. office, after we put her down on the table she kept rolling from side to side.  The nurse seemed pretty amazed by it.  She is a mover and shaker!

She eats and poops like crazy.  Which is tiring for me, but healthy and good for her.... she'll fatten right up in no time!

Her brothers adore her already.  Jackson wants to hold her 24/7.  Baron was really shy at first in the hospital and didn't want to be involved too much, but once we were all at home together he has really opened up and LOVES to help out getting her diapers and her pacifier and also entertaining her in the car.  He has even asked to hold her!  They both love to help pick out her outfit and put bows on her head and are just loving having her here.

We are all pretty much in newborn heaven right now and for once hope time goes by slowly so we can enjoy every second.  Grammie comes out here tomorrow and Aunt Brittany the next day, so we are looking forward to some visitors and even more people to cuddle her and take care of us!

Here's some "fresh" baby pictures though she's about an hour old here... we didn't take any pictures or call or text anyone for a good while after she was born, but just enjoyed her together and sat there sort of shocked at how fast everything happened.  It was a really special time for us. I loved it. She ate right away too.

Later that day John went and grabbed the boys and brought them up to the hospital to meet their new baby sister.  About the same time, Grandma Sue, who had gotten up early and drove 4 hours arrived as well! We are SO grateful she came and for all her help with the boys! She even spent the night with them at our place, brought them back to the hospital the next morning for another quick visit and then took them back down to Glide with her to spend the weekend! It was SUCH a wonderful blessing for us!

MJ loves having her Grandma hold her!

Look at those big feet!

Our nurses after she was born were absolutely wonderful!

Love the beautiful flowers in the background I got from the boys and those roses are from my mother-in-law Sue. They were both gorgeous are so sweet to receive!

Did I mention she is already a little bit fiesty and can belt out a cry like no other newborn? Girls... so different, yet so much fun! We are completely in love.

Berry Picking!

We've been waiting months for the berries to be ripe enough to go pick and were so excited to finally be able to make some more homemade jam! One weekend we picked TONS of the most delicious strawberries ever and a few weeks later we went and picked some raspberries and blueberries.  We only brought the camera the second time and got some great shots! The boys LOVE picking berries and are really good helpers!

Love the Northwest and that beautiful places like this are just a few miles from home

Nevermind that I had not showered and am about 2 1/2 weeks from my due date here.  Getting tired of clothes not fitting and fat feet!

They turned this tractor into a playground with tons of slides and the boys LOVED it!

Next up: Boysenberries and maybe some more raspberries because we've eaten them all!
